Check Your Power Bank
Domestic-flight rules include restrictions on power banks without clear CCC markings or affected by recalls. Check current airline guidance before packing yours.

Inspect the power bank itself before a mainland domestic flight. A product that passed security elsewhere may lack the marking required in China, have unreadable capacity information, or belong to a recalled batch. A familiar brand name does not resolve those questions.
The domestic-flight CCC check
From 28 June 2025, CAAC prohibited power banks without a CCC/3C mark, with an unclear mark, or in recalled models or batches on domestic flights. Check the label and current recall information for your actual unit. Other overseas certification marks do not replace the required CCC marking for that rule.
Check your own device rather than relying on its appearance or brand name. If its certification mark, capacity label, or recall status is unclear, leave it out of your flight luggage or obtain a compliant model from a reliable retailer before traveling.
Capacity and baggage rules are separate checks
| Rated energy | General CAAC carriage framework | Your action |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 100 Wh | The general capacity framework permits qualifying power banks without prior airline approval. | Check the airline’s current restrictions, readable labels, CCC status, recall status, and condition. |
| More than 100 Wh, up to 160 Wh | Airline approval is required; the applicable quantity limit is no more than two. | Obtain approval before travel rather than expecting it at security. |
| More than 160 Wh | Prohibited under the stated power-bank framework. | Leave it out of the flight plan. |
Power banks must not be put in checked luggage. The watt-hour rating is the relevant capacity measure; a marketing label showing only mAh can be insufficient unless the rated energy can be established from the readable specifications. Do not guess the voltage or alter a label.
Plan for the flight without using it
Follow the airline and crew instructions for storage and use. CAAC’s guidance prohibits using power banks to charge devices in flight; switch off a unit with an on/off control as required. Protect it from damage and accidental activation. A swollen, damaged, or overheating device should not be treated as ordinary luggage.
Charge the phone before departure and keep the next hotel address and itinerary accessible offline. Check separate rules for international legs and any carrier-specific restrictions. The correct decision is about your device and route, not whether another passenger once carried an apparently similar model.
