Save the Address in Chinese

Save your hotel name, Chinese address, and map pin. Showing the original address can make a taxi ride or a request for directions much easier.

“Take me to the hotel” becomes much easier when the driver can read the exact property name. An English brand name may identify several branches, and translating it back into Chinese can produce a name nobody locally uses. Save the property’s own Chinese details.

Build one useful address card

Copy the Chinese hotel name, full street address, reception number, and a verified Amap pin from the hotel’s confirmation or direct reply. Add the branch name. A photo of the entrance is helpful when the property sits above shops or inside a courtyard. Keep the card as an offline screenshot, not just a link that needs a working account.

Use the pin without letting it choose the wrong door

In Amap, compare the place result with the street address. A large hotel or complex can have a separate vehicle entrance, and a lane property may require the final part on foot. Ask reception which entrance a taxi should use. In DiDi, check both the destination and the pickup point before confirming; the app cannot know which side of a station you are standing on unless the location is correct.

At a major airport or railway station, follow signs for the official taxi queue or app pickup zone. A numbered pickup bay is better information for the driver than “I am outside.” If the hotel’s pin and written address disagree, contact the property before setting out.

Save the return journey too

Repeat the preparation for a restaurant or attraction whose name is easily confused. Keep the hotel address available even when you are heading elsewhere; it is your simplest recovery point if a phone loses reception or a plan changes. A companion should also have the address and reception number, so one device does not hold the entire evening together.
